US superstar comedian Theo Von records 2 episodes of his hit video podcast, This Past Weekend w/Theo Von at London Broadcast.
What was required?
London Broadcast was approached by Theo Von's production team in the USA to provide full video podcast recording services across 2 recording days in summer 2024.
Theo Von is a hugely successful American stand-up comedian and podcaster with over 8 million followers on Instagram and over 4 million YouTube subscribers. His podcast, This Past Weekend w/Theo Von, is one of the most successful podcasts in the world - sitting within the top 4 podcasts in the USA according to the Spotify's The Podcast Charts.
The production included hire of London Broadcast's video podcast studio facilities as well as a crew to manage the recording sessions. With a tight calendar, the studio was made available during weekends for possible recording. One of the episodes was eventually recorded on a Sunday afternoon.
Theo Von's guests for the recordings were KSI and Louis Theroux.
Because of the profile of both the host and the booked guests, planning was conducted with discretion to ensure the recording details were not made public prior to the recording.
Behind the Scenes
The shoot required a 3 camera video podcast studio set-up. The video was being shot at 4K resolution, with individual recording of both cameras and audio.
Podcast microphones on podcast microphone arms were required for each guest. Rode Procaster microphones were used with Rode windbreaks.
A large screen at the centre of the set was required to show the personalised branding of the podcast show.
