Kill Phil podcast becomes PRCA Digital Awards finalist

Pioneering podcast series, Kill Phil, secures finalist position in the annual PRCA Digital Awards for Best Use of Audio in a Campaign.


Kill Phil, a groundbreaking podcast series produced by London Broadcast and Jack & Grace communications agency, has been recognised by the Pubic Relations and Communications agency (PRCA) at its most recent Awards.


Receiving a finalist position in the Best Use of Audio in a Campaign category, alongside entires including agency, Golin. The category aimed at establishing the most creative use of audio as a communication tool in a digital campaign.

Kill Phil was produced over two years, during a period that included the COVID-19 pandemic, Phil's first experience of having visiting care nurses, and Phil using a ventilator to breath for the first time. Recordings were spaced every month.


It has gone on the achieve national news coverage, including The Observer newspaper and BBC Newsbeat.

"This is a podcast that deserves to be heard.

The series centres around Phil Newby, who was diagnosed with Motor neurone disease whilst in his forties.



Speaking on the announcement, Rob Double, Series Producer at London Broadcast, said, "This is a podcast that deserves to be heard. It is a brave, unfiltered insight into the realities of assisted dying and terminal illness. We have a such a small insight into incomprehensible reality of Phil's journey, but I hope what we have captured makes an impact."
